Book reviews can be more important than you may think. … They can critique and/or summarize the book. They can be written by readers or professional book reviewers. Reader reviews tend to be more personal, focusing on the individual reader’s experience while reading the book.

“I’m a Giant Killer” by Michael Mickey Williams, Jr. is a book that will help to remind and teach Christians how to fight in the spiritual realm, when they are facing a giant/giants. Michael states, “A giant is anything or anyone that’s trying to hinder you from going to the place where God is trying to take you.”
When Christians are facing giants, it is a spiritual fight. Michael states, “All of life’s problems at its core are spiritual; therefore the answer to every problem can only be a spiritual solution.”
Christians are empowered and encouraged to tackle their giants head-on while wearing the full armor of God. We have to fight to know that God is fighting on our behalves. We have to do our part while having faith, and trust in God to carry us through.
Michael shares some really powerful points, that will serve as reminders for us in our walk with Christ.
He states, “Knowing who we are, where we are, what we have and what we can do in Christ is very important in order to spiritually kill our giants.”
There are many obstacles in life that may seem difficult to overcome, but if we are spiritually equipped and know how to properly fight, we will annihilate our giants.
One of the verses Michael shares is Luke 10:19. I have always liked this verse because it is always an encouraging reminder of the power that has been invested in me through Jesus Christ. Luke 10:19 says, “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and overall the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” It reminds me that I have authority and power over Satan and his desire to kill, steal, and destroy me. I am able to jump over whatever hurdle Satan throws my way, breakthrough any barrier that may be before me, and tell mountains before me to move in the name of Jesus.
These are a couple of insightful points that Michael addresses:
1) Everyone who kills a GIANT receives a reward!
2) In order for you to MAXIMIZE your purpose, you will have to kill some GIANTS!
Michael stated that “A giant killer normally rises early because they want unhurried time before God.”
It is important to dedicate time to have with God early in the morning, before leaving our homes and dealing with daily challenges. We need strength from the Lord, and we need to seek His face, so He can prepare us for the day. This is especially true in the times that we are living in now!
I enjoyed reading the reminder that no one is too young to be a giant killer. I was happy to read 1 Timothy 4:12 because I have always liked this verse as well. 1 Timothy 4:12 says, “Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.”
I really like this point that Michael addresses:
“Don’t spend all your energy fighting little giants, if you kill the chief GIANT all the little giants will flee!”
I think this is so true, and what a way to save precious time and energy! If we find ourselves focusing on little giants, then we know it is time to shift our focus on our big giant/giants. We should not waste time on small matters when we have bigger fish to fry.
I have seen this happen many times. People may see evidence that you have defeated your giant, and instantly get the zeal to tackle their giants. Also, the bible says in Revelation 12:11, “They have triumphed over him (who is Satan) by the blood of the lamb and the word of their testimony.” This is why it is important to share our testimonies and tell others about our breakthroughs and victories. Our testimonies motivate others and remind them that nothing is impossible with Jesus. It is important to give God all the glory and honor for helping us to kill our giants because we do not overcome by our strength alone, but through the strength that Jesus gives us.
There are more powerful and uplifting words in Michael’s book, “I’m a Giant Killer.” When you read the book, you will have positive takeaways that will strengthen you. I was encouraged, and I like how straightforward he is in addressing his points. He shares scripture verses and Bible stories that go along with his message, which is a blessing.
I gave this book 4 out of 5 stars.
I recommend “I’m a Giant Killer” to anyone who enjoys motivational and uplifting Christian books, and wants to know or be reminded that you are an overcomer through Jesus Christ. If you are afraid of your giant and feel as though you will be defeated, read this book.
I received a copy of this book for review, and what I expressed is my honest opinion.
Why did I share this review? I shared it because I sold more books off of this one review then I have before getting the review.
